˙連續性出版品Serial <------> monograph : 單本
定義 : A publication in any medium issued in successive parts bearing numeric or chronological designations and intended to be continued indefinitely. Serials include periodicals ; newspapers ; annuals ( reports , yearbooks , etc.) ; the journals , memories , proceedings , transactions , etc. , of societies ; and numbered monographic series.

構成要素:
1.以連續式方式分批出版
2.載有編號或年代日期
3.意圖永遠繼續出版下去

類型:
1.periodicals (期刊 ((定期刊物; 雜誌)) )
2.newspapers;
3.annuals ( reports , yearbooks , etc. ) 年報
4.the journals[學刊] , memories , proceddings[會議紀錄] , transactions [會談] , etc. , of societies
5.numbered monographic[集叢] series ; 一年一本的書但都要有編號

期刊 Periodicals
A kind of serial that has a distinctive[清楚] title and that is issued more frequently than once a year [出版期限一年以上] and at regular intervals[定期出版] , with each issue containing articals by several contributors. [每一期都有很多文章由不同人寫成]

出版中的套書 Continuations of sets - 未完成以前當成serial ,不再出版之後當作nonserials;

pseudo : 假的

著錄來源:
非印刷性的連續性出版品 , 規定:
1.主要著錄來源為首期書名頁
2.或 , title page of the first available issue;
3.無書名頁的title page substitute 是指 analytical title page , cover , caption , masthead , editorial pages , colophon[版權頁] , other pages.


題名及著者敘述項: 主要著錄來源有題名之全稱及簡稱
卷期編次項: 繼續出版中 , 在卷期編次之後空四格 (表示要繼續出版)
